Education:

Graduated from Tianjin University in 2003 (dual bachelor's degree in materials science / electronic informatics) and received a master's qualification in pharmaceutic chemistry from Tianjin university in 2006. In 2007, received the full scholarship to study for a doctoral degree at the University of Cologne, Germany, from Professor Jonathan C. Howard, FRS (fellow of the Royal Society).

Work experience:

Worked at Max Planck Institute (MPI) in Germany (2012), Wellcome Sanger Institute in Cambridge, UK (2013), and European molecular biology laboratory - European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI, 2017). In 2019, he was invited by the Portuguese Gulbenkian Institute to be the director of the biological information center, responsible for the data analysis of many institutes and hospitals in the Lisbon region. In August 2023, Jingtao joined the Oujiang Laboratory as full time PI.
