On November 30, the Zhejiang laboratory animal review group visited Oujiang Lab to review the Oujiang Lab’s application for a laboratory animal license.

GENG Wujun, Deputy President of Oujiang Lab, expressed his warm welcome to the arrival of the review group. He said, Oujiang Lab attaches great importance to the construction of laboratory animal facilities. We look forward to establish lab animal facilities that complies with national standards and specifications of this industry in Oujiang Lab, so as to provide a more enabling research environment for animals-related R&D tasks, and strengthen our Lab’s services on public technical support.

WU Liren, Director of the Laboratory Animal Management Office, Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province, introduced the members of the review group. WANG Dejun, Vice President of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU), the team leader of the review group, hosted this on-site review of laboratory animal licensing.

Wang promised that all experts will perform their review responsibilities and carry forward on-site review process based on the Laboratory Animal Management Measures of Zhejiang Province, the Laboratory Animal Licensing Management Implementation Rules of Zhejiang Province, and other related rules, and adhere to the principles of openness, impartiality and fairness during the whole process.

LIN Tao, Deputy Director of the Laboratory Animal Center, Oujiang Lab, reported on the overview of the SPF-level experimental animal facilities and replied to the questions raised by experts in detail.

The review group conducted an on-site review of the governance structure, personnel composition, professional qualifications, rules and regulations, SOPs, original records, special equipment test reports, facility environmental indicators, materials storage and other aspects of the Center, and provided  suggestions for further progress based on existing issues.

Based on the full argumentation of the review group, WANG announced the result of this review. The group spoke highly of the overall construction of the SPF-level laboratory animal facilities, and fully recognized the function, process layout, and management model of the Center. License was granted to the Lab with unanimous agreement.
